The
photograph on the left(courtesy of Frank Doggett)shows a row of cottages
which was demolished in the early 1960s. The present Abbey Way was
built on the site. The public house is now a private residence.
The
photographs again show the contrast between past (courtesy of Jan
Gordon)and present, showing the old public house which closed about
10 years ago.
The
white building on the left was the Union Chapel and is now a private
house. The Church Lychgate on the right was rebuilt in 1977 for the
Queen's Silver Jubilee.
