On Sunday 17th June Ravenstone villagers held their breath for good weather after a very rainy week. Luck smiled again and the bi-annual fundraiser was underway. The beneficiaries being the The Church and the Village Hall .

It was held in the beautiful garden of Ravenstone House which was at it's best to welcome visitors. As the stall holders prepared

their wares, the tea ladies waited with their selection of fabulous home made cakes and the BBQ was fired up!

Cars lined the tiny main street and visitors waited patiently until the gate opened at 2pm and the 2007 Fete was declared open.

The police kept an eye on proceedings and the Broseley Development Band entertained all afternoon, to the delight of visitors

Above, the cake stall and white elephant stall entice the usual crowds and the plant stall stands ready to please, in all it's glory.

Whilst passing between the stalls, many people took a refreshment break and sampled the Pimms, had an ice cream or a hot dog

before trying their hand at some of the sideshows,

Tennis, fishing, golf, football and welly throwing were just some of the attractions nestled amongst the trees and lakes.

On behalf of the villagers, thanks to all who supported our fete and hope to see you all again in 2009. [Back to home page]
